Geologies

Every collection begins with an intuition. But between that intuition and the finished fabric lies a long journey, shaped by observation, research, study, and interpretation.

For a textile designer, creating a collection first of all means learning to see the world with different eyes. Sources of inspiration can come from a journey, a work of art, a landscape, or an apparently insignificant detail. The goal is not to copy reality, but to translate it into colours, textures, weights, and sensations.

Story of a Collection

For the Geologie collection, the starting point was the silent language of the earth. Sedimentary rocks, wind-shaped surfaces, mineral stratifications, and mountain landscapes immersed in mist represented the first visual references. The research developed through the collection of images, materials, and suggestions from the natural world: photographs of quarries and mountains, details of stones smoothed by water, opaque minerals crossed by metallic reflections, surfaces eroded by time.

From this phase comes the moodboard, a fundamental tool for every designer. It is here that colours, shapes, sensations, and materials begin to interact, gradually transforming into a coherent stylistic direction. In Geologie, the narrative is built around a palette of deep graphite tones, lichen greens, peat browns, petrol blues, and misty ivories—colours capable of evoking the primordial force of nature and its most authentic elegance.

Beyond sight: touch

The research then continued on a technical level. How do you transform a rocky surface into a fabric? How do you recreate the sensation of polished stone or a mineral surface? The answer came through experimentation with three-dimensional textile structures, compact boiled wools, irregular bouclé, ultra-soft flannels, and tweeds characterised by micro-textural effects. Each fabric was designed to evoke a tactile sensation before a visual one.

Wool proved to be the ideal expressive medium for this narrative. Warm, enveloping, authentic, capable of taking on different forms and textures while preserving its natural identity. In Geologie, material is not just a technical element, but becomes language, emotion, and identity. The result is a collection that tells the story of the relationship between humans and nature through fabrics that preserve the memory of the earth, its transformations, and the passage of time that shapes it.
